Telehealth and In-Person Therapy and Assessment for Children and Adults
Welcome to LAIMH!
Trauma, stress, and mental health difficulties impact how we see and navigate the world, and how we engage in relationships with those around us. Since these difficulties directly impact so many different areas of our lives, psychotherapy and psychological assessment need to take a "whole-person" approach that honors the many facets of our lives.
This is why in addition to the training I received during my PhD in Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis) at the California School of Professional Psychology and my two Masters degrees in Applied and Clinical Psychology, I have sought additional trainings and certifications in different treatment modalities. I am trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR- Level 1 trained), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT- Level A Certification, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for Trauma Themes (Level 1 trained). I am also an AFFIRM Youth Group facilitator (an evidence-based group therapy intervention for LGBTQIA+ youth); and a CBITS facilitator (a trauma-focused group treatment intervention designed to be delivered in school settings).
In addition to my APA-accredited internship at the Providence Saint John's Child and Family Development Center, I have worked as a therapist in private practice, intensive outpatient programs, residential and substance use detox treatment, schools, community mental health clinics, and I received neuropsychological assessment training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).
From my work and training in these settings, I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma, and as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I have a particular passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families, especially when they are experiencing difficulties related to their sexual or gender identity, and religious or spiritual conflict.
Whether I am working with kids or adults, I use humor and warmth to create a safe and therapeutic environment, wherein I utilize a strengths-based, integrative approach to care. Through integrating my training in various treatment modalities, we will work collaboratively to decrease emotional problems and/or behavioral difficulties that are impacting your quality of life.
Please reach out for a free consultation, so we can explore if I am a good fit for you or your child.
